Shimla, Aug 9 (Inditop.com) All arrangements have been made for the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) three-day “Chintan Baithak” (introspection meeting), slated to begin here Aug 19.
BJP state unit chief Khimi Ram told Inditop Sunday that the meet was earlier scheduled to be held in Mumbai, but then the venue was shifted to the Himachal Pradesh capital.
“We will make all arrangements to the satisfaction of the party high command,” he added.
A senior party leader said the meeting would look into causes that led to party’s recent defeat in the parliamentary elections and its future course of strategy during the forthcoming assembly elections, including those in Haryana, Maharashtra and West Bengal.
More than 25 senior party leaders – including members of the parliamentary board and chief ministers Narendra Modi (Gujarat), Raman Singh (Chhattisgarh), Ramesh Pokhriyal (Uttarakhand) and B.S. Yeddyurappa (Karnataka) – are expected to participate in the three-day introspection exercise that will be held at the Himachal Institute of Public Administration near here.
The dates and venue for the meeting, earlier scheduled for Aug 17 and 18, were changed with the prime minister calling a meeting of the chief ministers in Delhi Aug 17.
