New Delhi, May 18 (Inditop.com) The Maoist attack on bus passengers in Chhattisgarh that killed 35 people “highlights their bankrupt policies”, the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) said Tuesday.

“The attack on the private passenger bus by the Maoists only highlights their bankrupt policies of attacking ordinary citizens in various parts of the country including tribals who refuse to accept their dictates,” the CPI-M politburo said in a statement here.

A powerful landmine exploded under a bus with over 50 people Monday as it passed through a forested stretch in Dantewada district, killing at least 35 people, many of them civilians.

Condemning the “ghastly killing”, the CPI-M appealed “to the people to raise their voice against the murderous attacks on people and their livelihood and resist (Maoist) depredations against peaceful citizens”.
