New Delhi, Oct 22 (Inditop.com) The union cabinet Thursday discussed a proposal for the dissolution of the Jharkhand assembly but the decision in this regard has not been made public till assent from the president, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni said.
“The matter was discussed, but it cannot be made public till the president is approached,” Soni said.
Home Minister P. Chidambaram, who visited Ranchi Thursday, said the Election Commission was on the “verge” of giving a decision on when to hold the polls.
“We are in consultations with the Election Commission and it is on the verge of telling us when to hold elections,” he said.
