New Delhi, Jan 8 (IANS) A CISF constable posted in Delhi Metro’s Airport Express line committed suicide early Thursday by shooting himself with his service rifle, police said.

Mukesh Kumar Tokas, 40, of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), shot himself dead around around 3 a.m. while he was on duty at the New Delhi station.
“The constable was taken to nearby Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital, but was declared brought dead,” a senior Delhi Police officer told IANS.
According to police, the deceases was a resident of west Delhi’s Alipur area but stayed in a rented accommodation at Bijwasan in southwest Delhi with his wife, son and a daughter.
He returned from leave Dec 28.
Describing the sequence of the incident, the officer said Tokas was deputed at the Metro station with another constable, Himangshu Pandey.
“Around 2.15 a.m. Thursday both the constables went out of the Metro station to check the outside of the premisis,” the officer told IANS.
Pandey returned to the station at around 2.45 a.m. while Tokas stayed back outside, he said.
“After 15 minutes suspecting something wrong, Pandey went out to check. He saw Tokas aiming his service rifle at his head. Pandey tried to intervene but Tokas, within seconds, shot himself,” the officer said.
A CISF officer said: “We have not been able to figure out the exact reason behind the suicide as there was no indication of anything adverse.”
“It seems like Tokas was depressed over some family issues,” the officer told IANS.
