Chandigarh, July 3 (IANS) Haryana’s ruling Congress and opposition Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) won one Rajya Sabha seat each from the state with their candidates declared elected unopposed Saturday.

Former state finance minister Birender Singh (Congress) and Ranbir Singh Parjapati (INLD) were declared elected by the returning officer, Sumit Kumar.

The seats were falling vacant Aug 1 following the end of the term of Tarlochan Singh and the resignation of Ajay Singh Chautala, both belonging to the INLD.
