New Delhi, June 7 (IANS) The Congress Monday announced the name of party leader T.V. Maruthi as its second candidate for the biennial elections to the Rajya Sabha from Karnataka.

According to a Congress statement, party president Sonia Gandhi approved the name of Maruthi for the elections to the upper house.

The Congress has declared Oscar Fernandes as its candidate from the state. Elections are being held to fill four Rajya Sabha seats from Karnataka. Monday is the last date for filing nominations.
