Chennai, May 29 (IANS) The DMK’s high-level action committee would decide Sunday on whether to ally with the PMK, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi said Saturday.

‘Tomorrow (Sunday) our party’s high level action committee is slated to meet. What it would decide I do not know,’ he told reporters here, to queries on allying with the PMK.

The committee will discuss about the party’s candidates for the ensuing Rajya Sabha elections.

It has to be seen whether the DMK would accommodate PMK’s Anbumani Ramadoss, whose term ends next month.

Expressing anguish at the death of innocents in the violence unleashed by the Maoists, Karunanidhi said: ‘Their ideals may be high and their principles may be desirable but the methods adopted towards achieving them are inhuman.’

Citing a photograph of a person carrying the body of a little girl who died when the Mumbai-bound Gyaneshwar Express derailed in West Bengal Friday after suspected Maoists removed a stretch of rail track, Karunanidhi said: ‘That little girl did not have any difference of opinion with Maoists.’

‘Moving towards their goal, unmindful of deaths of children, women and men are not right,’ he said.
