New Delhi, April 30 (Inditop) A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader suffered injuries when a suspected supporter of the Congress attacked him during a debate in the national capital.

Delhi BJP vice-president Sunil Jindal suffered injuries on his arms and was admitted to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in an unconscious state after he was stabbed by a Congress worker, said Abha Gupta, a BJP official.

The attack took place at the Le Meridien Hotel in New Delhi during a debate organised by a news channel between the BJP’s Jagdish Mukhi and the Congress’ Mahabal Mishra, the Lok Sabha candidates from west Delhi constituency.

Mukhi’s media manager Gupta said the debate over the issue of water heated up and Mishra even threatened Mukhi.

He said Mishra’s supporters got angry and one of them attacked Jindal with a knife. “Jindal suffered injuries on arms. He is unconscious,” Gupta added.
