Shimla, May 1 (IANS) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on Friday laid the foundation stones for a mini secretariat and water supply scheme to be constructed at a cost of Rs.25 crore in Mandi district.
These will be built at Karsog town.
Addressing a public meeting in the town, Singh directed the authorities concerned to get the ongoing developmental works completed within a timeframe.
He said the Karsog valley is famous for its scenic beauty. Apart from promoting tourism, the government would focus on promoting farming.
“The government is implementing many schemes to strengthen the agriculture sector in the state. Emphasis on constructing irrigation channels is a step in this direction,” he said.
State Irrigation and Public Health Minister Vidya Stokes said Rs.330 crore are being spent to ensure the people of the state get potable drinking water and farmers get irrigation facilities at an affordable cost.
