Chandigarh, Sep 2 (Inditop.com) Reservation for locals in private sector jobs, monthly unemployment allowance, loan waiver for farmers and free two-wheelers for girl students are among the promises the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) has made in its manifesto for the Haryana assembly elections released Wednesday.
Releasing the manifesto, INLD general secretary Ajay Chautala told reporters here: “We would restart INLD’s past people-friendly policies in the state. Loans up to Rs. 100,000 would be waived off for farmers, labourers, backward classes, petty traders, service class and other professionals.”
“Unemployment is the biggest problem that Haryana is facing right now. There will be 50 percent reservation for local youth in all private sector jobs. Monthly unemployment allowance of Rs.3,000 will be given to all unemployed graduates till they get jobs,” he added.
The INLD, which parted ways with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Aug 24, also promised special packages for women and students of the state.
“Girls continuing their further studies after class 12 shall be provided free two-wheelers, while every female employee in the state government service shall be paid a salary for 13 months every year. Free education in every stream will be provided up to graduation level,” announced Chautala, son of former chief minister Om Parkash Chautala.
The INLD also offered every family in Haryana a free LPG connection and tapped water supply.
Chautala refused to discuss the party’s strategy for the assembly elections. He only said: “Right now we do not want to disclose anything. There will be a big meeting under the leadership of Om Parkash Chautala in Panipat on Sep 3 to decide our further course of action.”
Haryana Governor Jagannath Pahadia had dissolved the assembly Aug 21 on the state cabinet’s recommendation.
The term of the present assembly was to end in March 2010.
Now elections in the state will be held Oct 13 and the results will be announced Oct 22.
