Ranchi, June 2 (IANS) A day after president’s rule was imposed in Jharkhand, Governor M.O.H. Farook Wednesday reviewed development work in the state and directed officials to ensure implementation of central schemes.
Farook went to the state secretariat and held a meeting with Chief Secretary A.K. Singh and other department secretaries, an official press release said.
‘The governor directed the officials to expedite the work for the welfare of the people of the state. Farook also categorically told officials that no slackness will be tolerated and asked them to ensure implementation of central schemes,’ the release said.
Jharkhand was placed under president’s rule two days after Shibu Soren stepped down as chief minister and none of the three major political parties in the state showed willingness to form an alternate government.
