Shillong, March 30 (IANS) The India-Pakistan match has almost everyone in Shillong, including Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma, glued to their television sets.

Sangma watched the high octane India-Pakistan World Cup semifinal match in his office. ‘India deserves to win and I am sure they will sail through the final,’ Sangma told IANS Wednesday.

In the state secretariat here, most officials and ministers were glued to the TV sets in their respective rooms.

‘I cannot miss it. I am watching the game off and on in my room,’ Meghalaya Additional Chief Secretary B.K. Dev Varma said. Varma is the uncle of India’s ace tennis player Somdev Devvarman.

‘Though cricket is not cup of my tea, but I am watching today’s semifinal since India is playing against its archrival Pakistan,’ said Rining Lyngdoh Mawphlang, a local journalist.
