New Delhi, July 10 (IANS) The Janata Dal-United (JD-U) Saturday revoked the suspension of two of its Lok Sabha members from Bihar – Jagdish Sharma and Purnmasi Ram – who faced action for ‘anti-party activities’ in September last year.
JD-U national general secretary Javed Raza told IANS that the party’s disciplinary committee ‘considered the reply of the MPs to the show cause issued to them and found it satisfactory’.
Jagdish Sharma represents Jahanabad constituency and Purnmasi Ram represents Gopalganj constituency.
Political circles view the revocation of the suspension as a move to close party ranks before the ensuing assembly polls in Bihar.
Both the MPs were suspended during the by-polls to the Bihar Assembly in September last on complaints of working against official candidates.
Sharma had supported his wife Shanti Sharma, who contested as an independent in Ghosi assembly constituency, against the JD-U candiate. She won the by-poll.
Sharma was earlier a legislator from Ghosi for three decades from 1977 to 2009.
