New Delhi, June 4 (IANS) Janata Dal-United president Sharad Yadav said on Thursday that the alliance with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) will happen for sure for the upcoming assembly polls.
“I am trying my best to make the alliance possible and I am confident about it. Alliance will happen. And it will happen for sure,” Yadav told IANS over phone from Madhepura, Bihar.
He was asked if the alliance between JD-U and RJD in Bihar will materialise.
Yadav’s reaction came after the war of words intensified between the RJD and JD-U leaders over the alliance’s chief ministerial candidate.
Senior RJD leader Raghuvansh Prasad Singh had earlier said that projecting Nitish Kumar as the chief ministerial candidate would be suicidal for any alliance, while JD-U leaders made it clear that Nitish Kumar would be the party’s candidate and no one else.
“Alliance was already final as it was the need of the time. What has not happened in Bihar politics yet, will happen in the upcoming assembly polls,” said Yadav.
He also added that both the parties are ideologically bound to fight the communal forces.
