New Delhi, June 18 (IANS) Former president A.P.J. Abdul Kalam may not contest the presidential election despite appeals from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), an informed source said Monday.
“BJP leader (L.K.) Advani spoke to Abdul Kalamji for the third time. But Kalam told him that his conscience is not permitting him to contest,” the source close to Kalam told IANS.
“He will soon issue a statement in this regard,” the source added.
