Chennai, July 23 (Inditop.com) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi Thursday announced that his house at Gopalapuram here will be converted into a charitable hospital after he and his wife die.
Speaking at the inaugural function of the Kalaignar Insurance Scheme for Life Saving Treatment, Karunanidhi said the current market value of the house in the heart of Chennai was Rs.8 crore (Rs.80 million).
“The hospital will be in the name of my parents Anjugam and Muthuvel. I have got the consent of my sons and wife for this,” he said.
The house could be transferred to the Tamil Nadu government or the Kalaignar Trust for this purpose. He said he also owned 14 acres of land at Tiruvarur, about 290 km from Chennai.
