Kochi, July 3 (IANS) The Kerala High Court on Friday asked the media to introspect on the way courts were covered and asked them not to mislead people.

On Tuesday, a section of the media reported that the high court had pulled up the Kerala government for the delay in printing school text books.
In a statement, Justice K. Vinod Chandran said the court was both surprised and distressed to see the report in both the print and electronic media that the court had expressed displeasure against the Kerala government.
“Observations when made by the highest constitutional court in the state against the state would be made with all responsibility and would have its impact,” he said.
“When observations are reported and widely publicised which are actually not made by the court, then it’s time for introspection,” Justice Chandran added.
The judge clarified that in this case the court had not made any observation.
