Ranchi, Dec 29 (Inditop.com) Former Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda, at the centre of a Rs.2,500 crore money laundering scam, who was hospitalized here Monday night after he complained of stomach pain is in stable condition, doctors said Tuesday.
Koda was Monday night shifted to Apollo Hospital from Birsa Munda Central Jail, Ranchi.
“Koda was admitted for complications of urinary tract infection. We will soon decide regarding removal of the ureteral stent that was inserted into Koda’s kidney two and half months ago,” P.D. Sinha, a doctor at Apollo Hospital Ranchi told reporters.
Koda was arrested by the Jharkhand vigilance department in a disproportionate assets (DA) case Nov 30.
Income Tax and Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials had raided Koda’s houses Oct 30 and unearthed a money laundering scam.
The ED has been granted permission by the court to interrogate Koda in jail. The ED has also been granted permission to visit five foreign countries – Thailand, Dubai, Indonesia, Sweden and Liberia – to collect evidence of Koda’s investments.
