New Delhi, Aug 1 (IANS) The Lok Sabha was adjourned Monday, day one of parliament’s monsoon session, after paying tributes to Bhajan Lal, former Haryana chief minister who passed away in June, and four former members.

Moving a condolence motion, Speaker Meira Kumar said Bhajan Lal was a champion of the ordinary people and a seasoned administrator.

She also paid tribute to four former MPs, including former Communist Party of India MP Chaturanan Misra.

The House also mourned the deaths of those who were killed in the Mumbai blasts as well as train accidents.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh introduced to the house the new members of his cabinet.
