Ranchi, Oct 31 (Inditop.com) The Income Tax Department Saturday conducted raids at the various homes of former Jharkhand chief minister and MP Madhu Koda, an official said.
The official said the IT department was conducting raids at different places in seven Indian cities. The raids were conducted in Koda’s properties in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Chaibasa, New Delhi, Jaipur, Lucknow and Kolkata.
Scores of graft cases have been pending against Madhu Koda. The Jharkhand vigilance department had lodged an FIR against the former chief minister for amassing disproportionate wealth.
According to reports, Madhu Koda invested more than Rs.4,000 crore in mines in South Africa.
Koda, who was operated last week after he complained of stomach ache, was shifted to his house in Ranchi Friday. He became Jharkhand chief minister in September 2006.
