Bhubaneswar, July 16 (IANS) A group of around 70 Maoists blew up a police station in Orissa’s Nabrangpur district, police said Friday.

The rebels attacked the police station at Kundai village under Raighar block, some 700 km from here, at around 10 p.m. Thursday night when no policemen were inside.

‘The rebels blew up the police station using explosives. It has around a dozen of staff members, including five sub-inspectors and four assistant sub-inspectors. However, none of them were present during the attack,’ P.C. Barik, district superintendent of police, told IANS.

Kundai village is located about three kilometres from the Chhattisgarh border.
