Jammu, Feb 26 (Inditop.com) Jammu and Kashmir’s ruling National Conference Friday demanded an apology from the opposition Peoples Democratic party (PDP) for depicting three generations of the Abdullah family as “3 Idiots” on social networking site Facebook and circulating an SMS to draw attention to it.
Addressing a press conference here, National Conference ministers and legislators slammed the PDP for “stooping so low in politics, while seeking to settle scores with the ruling party”.
Three generations of the Abdullahs – Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, Farooq Abdullah and current Chief Minister Omar Abdullah – have been depicted like the stars of Aamir Khan’s recent super-hit film.
“It’s ridiculous,” said Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rather, who has worked with all the three generations of the Abdullahs.
“PDP leaders should tender an apology to save the situation from worsening, first for posting this kind of material on Facebook and then for circulating the SMS. This can cause great trouble in the state,” he added.
On the other hand, PDP president Mehbooba Mufti told reporters, who sought her reaction, that the ruling party was unnecessarily trying to blame the PDP.
