Bhubaneswar, June 21 (IANS) After visiting the sites in Sambalpur for the proposed Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Odisha, the four-member central team on Sunday said it would submit the report to the human resource development mnistry by June 25.
The selection of sites for permanent and temporary IIM campus in Sambalpur has brightened the prospect of admission to the premier business school from this academic year.
“The team would submit its report to the HRD Ministry by Thursday,” human resource development (HRD) director Shailendra Kumar, a member of the team, said.
He also said admission for the IIM-Odisha would take place for around 78 seats, while it was earlier proposed to have an intake capacity of 140 seats.
The team reached Sambalpur on a two-day visit on Saturday,and inspected the proposed permanent and temporary campuses in Sambalpur.
They have expressed their satisfaction over the sites selection.
The state government has identified land in Rengali, Dhankauda and Neeldungri blocks for permanent campus. It has also selected Government Polytechnic, Rengali, Sambalpur University Institute of Information Technology (SUIIT), Burla, and Silicon Institute of Technology, Sason, for temporary campus.
