New Delhi, Jan 23 (IANS) Senior journalist, commentator and educator Paranjoy Guha Thakurta was on Saturday appointed the editor of Economic and Political Weekly (EPW).
A press statement by Sameeksha Trust, which publishes the EPW, said the trustees met on Saturday and considered the recommendations of the search committee constituted by them.
“The Trust decided to appoint Paranjoy Guha Thakurta as editor of Economic and Political Weekly with effect from April 1, 2016,” the statement said.
The trustees present at the meeting were its chairman Deepak Nayyar, managing trustee D.N. Ghosh, Andre Beteille, Romila Thapar, Jean Dreze and Rajeev Bhargava.
The trustees appreciated the work done by Rammanohar Reddy as editor for 11 years.
