Bangalore, April 30 (Inditop) Polling booths opened at 7 a.m. Thursday in 11 Lok Sabha constituencies across Karnataka to decide the fortunes of 156 candidates in the final phase of voting for the 28 seats in the state.
The constituencies are Dharwad, Haveri, Bagalkot, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi-Chikmagalur, Shimoga, Davangere, Hassan, Mysore, Mandya and Chamarajnagar.
An estimated 15.5-million voters, including 7.52 million women, are eligible to exercise franchise in the final phase.
More than 50,000 officials are conducting the voting. Over 5,600 micro-observers have been deployed to ensure fair election.
More than 2,700 video recorders and digital cameras will record the voting.
Around 55,000 security personnel are on duty to maintain law and order.
In the first phase April 23 voting took place in 17 constituencies.
