Dehradun, Oct 23 (Inditop.com) From the heat and dust of politics to an energetic break in the hills, Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi returned to Delhi Friday after spending three days trekking in Uttarakhand with brother-in-law Robert Vadra and friends.

Gandhi had reached Uttarkashi district early Tuesday and drove 42 km to reach Raithal village in Bhatwadi block to begin his trek.

Rahul was accompanied by Vadra, his close aide Kanishka Singh and Alwar MP Jitendra Singh.

“All of them trekked nearly 10 km to reach Dayara Bugyal village located in the hills,” Raithal village head Manoj Rana told Inditop.

Tents had been put up in Raithal. The entire area was manned by Special Protection Group (SPG) in plain clothes, some of who had reached two days earlier.

“They were over two dozen of them, spread out across the entire Dayara Bugyal region where Rahul was trekking. The villagers were also cautioned and told to maintain a safe distance from the VIPs,” Rana added.

However, the district administration and the police were clueless about Rahul’s visit.

“We have no information about Gandhi’s visit,” Uttarkashi Superintendent of Police Mukhtar Mohseen told Inditop.

Rahul returned to Uttar Kashi Friday afternoon and left for New Delhi soon after.
