Chandigarh, June 23 (IANS) The biennial polls to elect two members to the Rajya Sabha from Haryana will be held July 10, a spokesman of the state assembly said Wednesday.
The polls are being held following the completion of the term of Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) leader Tarlochan Singh and the resignation of INLD legislator Ajay Singh Chautala.
Chautala resigned after being elected to the state assembly in October last year.
The spokesman said the last date of filing of nominations will be June 30. Withdrawals can be made till July 3, he added.
While the Congress is in power in the state and will eye at least one of the two seats, the INLD also has 31 members in the 90-member house.
