Bhopal, Oct 14 (Inditop.com) The remote habitats in Madhya Pradesh will be connected through all-weather roads by 2013, Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Gopal Bhargava said Wednesday.
“Having decided to identify such roads and assess their length and cost, the state government would soon launch a campaign so that all inaccessible habitats can be connected to all-weather roads. These roads will be constructed under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme,” Bhargava told Inditop.
He said the district collectors, district programme coordinators and chief executive officers have been directed to identify such roads which are not covered by core network of t he Prime Minister’s Gram Sadak Yojna (PMGSY).
The officials have also been directed to chalk out an action plan to construct all these roads in a phased manner by 2013, Bhargava said.
“To start with, they have been directed that an initial level estimate be made by Oct 30 for the roads to be constructed during the year 2009-10,” he said.
