Agra, Aug 19 (Inditop.com) Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav Wednesday asked his partymen to start an agitation and fill the jails of Uttar Pradesh to protest against the state government’s “wrong-doings and corrupt practices”.
Opening his party’s national convention here, Yadav said the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) was in power in the state, thanks to the central government’s “meherbani” (benevolence).
The conference is being attended by about 10,000 Samajwadi Party delegates, most of them from Uttar Pradesh.
His party colleagues said they were ready to agitate against what one of them called the “atrocities and injustices of the corrupt Mayawati rule” in Uttar Pradesh.
Speaking to the delegates, Samajwadi Party leader Jayaprada urged the induction of youth at all levels to strengthen the organisation. She also suggested improvement of communication channels within the party framework and with the masses.
Jaya Bachchan and Kalyan Singh were on the dais as party leaders spoke.
