Panaji, Jan 23 (IANS) Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar on Saturday urged “certain civil society activists” to change their negative attitude towards development and infrastructure related projects.
“People should stop saying ‘no’ to everything,” Parsekar said at a meeting of stakeholders of the feni industry, a day after activists and residents of Betul village, in South Goa, opposed the relocation of this’ year’s Defence Expo project to their village.
“Certain people oppose everything, whether it is the third Mandovi bridge, a garbage plant or new industries, they rise up to oppose it,” the chief minister said.
The relocation of the Defence Expo 2016 to the Naqueri plateau in Betul, 45 km from here, has been opposed by civil society groups, local residents, as well as the political opposition.
