Thiruvanathapuram, Oct 7 (Inditop.com) Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor, drawing flak for many of his Twitter postings, has found support from Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi.
“He has a slightly different role… a lot of time he is travelling and working hard for the country,” Gandhi told reporters here Wednesday when asked about the minister.
Tharoor, a former UN diplomat and first-time Congress MP from Kerala, last month courted controvers when he wrote on micro-blogging website Twitter that he was ready to travel “cattle class” in solidarity with the “holy cows” – he was referring to the austerity drive of the party and the government.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh too has defended him.
