Panaji, March 23 (IANS) You could soon choose between a horse, motorised paragliders, hovercrafts, air balloons or even segways to get around in Goa.
In her address to the Goa legislative assembly on Monday, Governor Mridula Sinha said that the state was using innovative ways to create new and diversified tourism products.
“We are in the process of launching new tourism services and products, such as hot air ballooning, heli-tourism, sea plane services, adventure sports, amphibian vessels, river rafting at Mhadei and Tillari rivers,” Sinha said.
Goa is one of the most popular beach tourism destinations in the country and attracts nearly three million tourists annually, half a million of which are foreigners.
The state over the last few years has been trying to diversify the tourism bouquet, which offers more than just a beach-side experience.
“My government has also initiated activities like segway tours, luxury yacht services, water-based activity, entertainment-cum-water sports, hop-on-hop-off bus services, horse-trails, all-terrain vehicles, hovercrafts and motorised paragliding,” she added.
