Kolkata, June 4 (IANS) After being routed in the West Bengal civic polls, the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) Friday accused the Trinamool Congress of trying to unleash terror to seize power in the state.
‘For three-four years the Trinamool and its associates have adopted a path of violence to terrorise the people of the state. Their aim is to capture the state secretariat by any means,’ the CPI-M mouthpiece Ganashakti said in an editorial.
Attacking Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee, it said the violent attitude of the party was reflected time and again in its leader’s speeches and behaviour.
‘Since the declaration of the election results, the Trinamool was trying to turn its victory cries into terror,’ the daily said.
‘Trinamool is now in ecstasy. And its ecstatic state is manifest in the attacks on CPI-M workers and common people,’ it said.
