Patna, April 12 (IANS) Two drones were seized while video recording a rally of the extremely backward classes here on Sunday and two people were detained in this connection, police said.

Both the drones were apparently recording the Nishad Mahakumbh Maharally at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan without permission of the union home ministry for it, police added.
Patna’s Senior Superintendent of Police Jitendra Rana said police have seized two drones that were flying overhead to video record the rally.
“Soon after the police came to know that two drone were flying to record a video of the rally, a team of police officials rushed to stop it,” he said.
Police officials said the union home ministry’s permission is essential before flying a drone in view of the security threat it poses. Permission from the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the local police is also required.
Meanwhile, the rally was organised to demand proper share for Nishad (boatman and fisherman) caste in politics from parties including ruling Janata Dal-United and opposition Bharatiya Janata Party ahead of the Bihar assembly polls likely to be held later this year.
