Bhopal, Oct 26 (Inditop.com) Government employees in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna district not doing their job properly, watch out! Complaints against you will now reach the district collector through a simple SMS, as he has passed on his mobile phone number to everybody in the district.
In an experiment at redressing grievances of the people, Guna District Collector Mukesh Chand Gupta has initiated a scheme allowing people to directly communicate with him about problems relating to work at government-run establishments.
Called ‘SMS Alert’, the service was launched in the district Monday. Any person facing problems with the administration can inform the collector directly through an SMS on his mobile number.
The complaints may range from employees not coming on time, midday meals not being provided in schools or any complaints about the functioning of the district administration.
To spread awareness about the initiative, posters carrying the mobile number of the district collector has been pasted at public places in both urban and rural areas of the district.
“The scheme asking people to be vigilant and alert the administration about lapses in the implementation of government schemes would mainly target education, health and anganwadi centre,” Gupta told IANS over phone.
