Agra, March 13 (IANS) A 22-year-old shoe factory worker was beaten to death in Shah Ganj area here for his act of “indecent exposure” before a girl living in the neighbourhood.
According to police, the man, Jeetu, died of a heart attack as mentioned in the post mortem report.
The deceased was cremated on Thursday evening.
Earlier, his relatives and neighbours kept the body on the road to demand justice, which forced the police to resort to a baton charge.
Police said Jeetu, apparently in a drunken state, began to urinate in the open while the girl was passing by.
The girl then informed her parents who, with others in the locality, thrashed Jeetu in full public view till he collapsed.
Meanwhile, the accused, who own a shoe factory in Tamoli Para area of Shah Ganj, are now absconding.
