Bhubaneswar, July 22 (Inditop.com) Those who had hoped to witness the century’s longest solar eclipse in Orissa were disappointed Wednesday as the sky remained overcast in most parts of the state.
Thousands of people woke up early in the morning and were armed with special glasses to see the phenomenon. However, clouds spoiled the party although there was a partial eclipse in the state.
The solar eclipse was only visible for three minutes at the Pathani Samant Planetarium in Bhubaneswar, where thousands of people gathered to watch the rare sight.
Some changes were made to the rituals conducted at the famous Jagannath Temple in Puri since Tuesday evening due to the solar eclipse. They will be conducted as usual after sanctification of the shrine.
