Karachi, Sep 26 (Inditop.com) Pakistan will host a limited overs series against New Zealand in UAE Nov 3-13, the country’s cricket board announced Saturday.

According to the itinerary announced by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Pakistan will host New Zealand for a three-match One-day International (ODI) series in Abu Dhabi Nov 3-9 following by two Twenty20 Internationals in Dubai Nov 12 and 13.

Pakistan was supposed to host New Zealand for a full series this year but the Kiwis refused to tour the country because of security apprehensions. Later, the cricket boards of the two countries decided to split the series into two parts with the first leg taking place in UAE followed by the Test series in New Zealand in November-December.

The ODI series has been reduced from four to three matches to accommodate two-day rests between the games. That was done on the request of New Zealand Cricket (NZC) which did not agree with the initial schedule of the series prepared by the PCB, finding it too hectic.

The PCB wanted to host four one-dayers in Abu Dhabi within seven days but NZC said that it wanted longer breaks for its cricketers.

The PCB also accommodated New Zealand on another front by fixing the entire series within a span of ten days in November to allow Kiwis to feature in the inaugural Champions League planned for October in India.

The fixture:

Nov 3: 1st ODI in Abu Dhabi

Nov 6: 2nd ODI in Abu Dhabi

Nov 9: 3rd ODI in Abu Dhabi

Nov 12: T20 in Dubai

Nov 13: T20 in Dubai
