Mumbai, April 20 (Inditop.com) India opener Virender Sehwag has been ruled out of the Twenty20 World Cup and has been replaced by Tamil Nadu batsman Murali Vijay in the 15-member squad for the tournament that starts April 30.
“Sehwag has sustained a shoulder injury, and has been advised rest for three-four weeks. He has been ruled out of the ICC World Twenty20,” said board secrtary N.Srinivasan.
“The ICC’s Technical Committee has permitted a replacement for him and the senior selection committee has accordingly picked Murali Vijay. Gautam Gambhir will now be the vice-captain of the team,” he said.
