Chennai, Feb 13 (Inditop.com) Tamil Nadu and defending champions Karnataka swept to their consecutive victories in the South Zone Subbaiah Pillai One-day cricket tournament here Saturday.

Karnataka, thanks to an unbeaten 121 (98b, 14×4, 3×6) by Ganesh Satish, overwhelmed Kerala by seven wickets while Tamil Nadu cruised to an eight-wicket win against Hyderabad.

Kerala, weakened by the departure of S.Sreesanth, who left for Kolkata to join the Indian team for the second Test against South Africa, proved to be cannon fodder after scoring 246 for seven batting first.

Satish and the consistent Manish Pandey (47) were involved in a 108-run partnership for the third wicket that effectively took the game away from Kerala for whom Vincent Gomez (68) was the lead scorer and he put on 109 runs for the fifth wicket with K. Rakesh (41).

Hyderabad, who had lost to Kerala in their previous game, made a mess of a solid start and lost their last seven wickets for just 20 runs in 35 balls to collapse from 230 for three to 250 all out.

Tamil Nadu then made light of the target with their top order, led by opener Anirudha Srikkanth (134, 128b, 12×4, 4×6), firing in unision.
