New Delhi, May 2 (IANS) Mumbai Indians have signed West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Smith as a replacement for Australia fast bowler Mitchell Johnson for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Johnson was ruled out to play in IPL’s fifth edition due to a toe injury.
Smith is expected to join the Mumbai franchise Thursday when they taken on Pune Warriors in an away game.
Smith played for Mumbai Indians in the inaugural IPL season in 2008 before moving to Deccan Chargers in the subsequent year.
The 29-year-old went unsold in the auction held earlier in the year.
