Dirang (Arunachal Pradesh), April 10 (IANS) Gaurav Gill, the 2013 Asia Pacific Rally champion, lived up to his formidable reputation as he dominated the Auto Cross, Rally Sprint and the 8 km Hill Climb in the three-day JK Tyre Arunachal Festival of Speed.

Gill, driving a rally prepared Volkswagen Polo, emerged overall winner with a total of 75 points, ahead of Delhi’s Saazid Singha, who delivered a rock solid performance in his Grand Vitara. The Festival of Speed concluded here on Thursday.
Singha also emerged as the top driver in the SUV class as Gill dropped out of contention after his car developed mechanical problems.
Another Delhi-based driver Philippos Mathai, who is also a tuner of repute, finished third with a total of 30 points despite being hit by a number of car related issues.
Meanwhile, 19-year-old Arindam Saikia, a native of Meghalaya, dominated the Quard class in a Polaris RZR 1000 by winning the Auto Cross Sprint and the Hill Climb.
