Shimla, March 30 (IANS) As a goodwill gesture, Himachal Pradesh Wednesday invited the Pakistani guests to visit the hills after the India-Pakistan cricket World cup semifinal match in Mohali.

The state tourism department has offered 30 percent discount on their stay in the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) hotels, tourism director Arun Sharma told IANS.

He said the special discount would be available for one week.

Kullu and Manali are the hotspots for tourists, followed by Shimla and Dharamsala.

The mountain peaks viewed from Shimla’s historic Ridge are still wrapped in a thick blanket of white.

The hills overlooking Manali and Sangla and Kalpa in Kinnaur district are also marooned in snow.

The HPTDC has 57 economy and high-end hotels across the state, the official said.

Around 400 Pakistani cricket fans, including officials and relatives of the players, have arrived in India through the Attari-Wagah border checkpost in the last seven days.

Himachal Pradesh attracted 13 million tourists last year as compared to 11 million in 2009, registering an increase of over 16 percent in a year, according to the official.
