London, July 20 (Inditop.com) Simon Jones, England’s 2005 Ashes hero, is all set to revive his struggling career at Hampshire after being axed by Worcestershire.

Fast bowler Jones, who played a crucial role with his reverse swing during England’s 2005 triumph at home, will get a chance to bowl at Rose Bowl after Hampshire coach Giles White showed interest in him.

White is ready to offer the 30-year-old pace ace a pay-as-you-play deal at the Rose Bowl.

“Simon has an excellent record so we’ll have a chat with him this week,” White was quoted as saying by The Sun.

Jones was axed by Worcestershire after he failed to recover from his knee injury. He claimed 59 wickets, 18 of which came during the 2005 Ashes, from 18 Tests and has been named in England’s preliminary squad for the Champions Trophy.
