Washington, July 10 (DPA) Michael Phelps, the 14-time Olympic gold medal winner, set a new world record in the men’s 100-metre butterfly at the US swimming championships.
His time of 50.22 seconds Thursday in Indianapolis, Indiana set a new mark in the event.
The Olympic star, who holds eight world records in swimming, declared himself Thursday “pretty happy with my swim”.
