London, Dec 14 (Inditop.com) Online adult magazine Playgirl has decided not to publish nude pictures of troubled celebrity golfer Tiger Woods because it was “impossible to 100 percent verify” if they were genuine.
The announcement was issued to People magazine by Daniel Nardicio, the director of marketing for the magazine.
“Playgirl has decided to turn down the alleged Tiger Woods nude photos, reportedly taken by camera phone by Woods himself,” Daniel told people.com. “They were impossible to 100 percent verify, hence the unwillingness to go there.”
Woods has been in the news since he crashed his car outside his house in the early hours of Nov 27 amid allegations of a massive fight between him and his wife Elin Nordegren, who apparently used a golf club to break the window on his car.
The golfer, who was previously seen as a squeaky clean athletic role model, has been tainted by allegations of serial infidelities with as many as 13 women around the US, including various waitresses, nightclub hostesses and porn stars.
Since the accident, Woods has not been seen in public and he withdrew from his own tournament in Thousand Oaks, California, just days after the accident.
Before the accident, Woods had a phenomenal career, earning more than $1 billion in his rapid 13-year rise, commanding huge fees for endorsements and revolutionising sports marketing.
He received multimillion-dollar fees for putting his signature on new golf courses. Woods also runs a world foundation aimed at getting more young, disadvantaged people out on the greens.
But his philandering is proving costly. While Gillette has axed a 12 million pounds (about $19.4 million) marketing deal with him, Pepsi bosses have also held talks about their 60 million pounds five-year contract with Woods since ditching the Gatorade Tiger Focus drink last Tuesday, and US phone giant AT&T is “evaluating” its link with the star.
His wife Elin is “filled with hatred” over his cheating ways and may never be able to forgive him. She might move to Sweden with their two children, reports The Mirror.
