Abu Dhabi, Dec 17 (DPA) Barcelona striker Pedro Rodriguez scored a goal for the record books as the European champions came from behind to defeat Mexico’s Atlante Cancun 3-1 in Abu Dhabi to reach the final of the World Club Cup.
Atlante took a fifth-minute lead Wednesday through Guillermo Rojas but Sergio Busquets levelled 30 minutes later, and Lionel Messi and Pedro struck with goals for Barca in the 55th and 67th minutes to set up a final with Argentina’s Estudiantes on Saturday.
Pedro’s goal made him the first player to score in six different competitions in the same saeson. The 22-year-old striker had already netted in the Spanish Primera Division, the Champions League, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish and European Supercups.
Atlante will now face Pohang Steelers of South Korea in the match for third place, also on Saturday. Estudiantes defeated Pohang Steelers 2-1 on Tuesday.
