Mohali, March 30 (IANS) Virender Sehwag Wednesday became the sixth Indian batsman to score 1,000 runs or more against Pakistan in One-day Internationals (ODIs) when he drove the third ball of the World Cup semifinal, bowled by Umar Gul, to the cover boundary at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) Stadium here Wednesay.
The other five are Mohammad Azharuddin (1,657), Sachin Tendulkar (2,499) before Wednesday’s match), Rahul Dravid, Saurav Ganguly (1,652) and Yuvraj Singh (1,251).
After Wednesday’s innings, Sehwag reached 1,036. He has hit two hundreds and six 50s against the arch-rivals.
