London, July 21 (Inditop.com) Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson has slammed Carlos Tevez saying that the Argentine doesn’t deserve the 25 million pounds at Manchester City.
Ferguson also refuted claims made by Tevez that he was ignored at the end of the season.
“The fans quite rightly have their heroes and I respect the fans so I was happy to go along with a deal as long as it was the right deal. Our success is down to the fans and their support, we need them when we are away from home to the likes of Fulham and Arsenal but he (Tevez) was simply not worth 25 million pounds,” Ferguson was quoted as saying by The Sun.
Ferguson went on to add that he not only spoke to Tevez but also his co-owner Kia Joorabchian.
“We made contact with Carlos, I sent him texts and spoke to him when he was in Argentina. David Gill (chief executive) made an offer to Kia so I spoke to Carlos before the Inter Milan game and said that we had spoken to Kia,” he added.
Ferguson also said that Arsenal’s lack of spending power could hit them hard this season.
“Arsenal have got the biggest test to be where they want to be. I know that Arsene Wenger doesn’t have any money and it’s a big test for Arsenal,” he said.
