Jammu, Oct 3 (Inditop.com) Rukhsana, the teenager who had killed a Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist last Sunday, and her family have shifted to safer environs in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri town after police confirmed that the rebel group has vowed to take revenge.

The family shifted to Rajouri town, 160 km north of the state’s summer capital Jammu, Friday. “They are living in district police lines in Rajouri. We are taking every care of them,” Senior Superintendent of Police (Rajouri) Shafakat Watali told Inditop.

Rukhsana and her family were forced to move after police received credible reports that Lashkar terrorists would strike at them. “There were intercepts in this regard. Steps have been taken to protect the family from the militants,” a police officer said.

He said reports suggest that terrorists “have spread the word of taking revenge on the family, not only because the 18-year-old killed their commander Abu Osama, but because the act has sent a message of resistance”.

“These words have been intercepted by the state police and intelligence agencies as well,” the officer added.

Rukhsana’s mother Rashida Begum said: “What has irked the Lashkar the most is the way media has showcased Rukhsana’s courage and her bravery in recalling before the media the episode of killing the terrorist. It’s for this reason the militants have become angry and desperate.”

Rukhsana had killed LeT terrorist Abu Osama, who along with two others had barged into her house, beaten her parents and had sought to make advances toward the teenager. The girl had hit the terrorist with an axe, snatched his gun and fired at him, killing him on the spot in their hamlet Bhatti Kalsi in upper Shadhara village.
